Wine and Chocolate Pairing Inspirations
Traditionally wine and cheese are a couple; however there’s been a lot of mixing and mingling with chocolates these days. With the holiday season approaching, you can always count on wine and chocolate as great gift ideas or simply to get the party started. In fact we’ve got the skinny on great Wine and Chocolate Pairing Inspirations for you.
Moscato
Moscato is very popular right now. You have Nicki Minaj who has her take on Moscato in various fusions such as Peach and Coconut. But ultimately the better choice is Saracco, Moscato d’Asti. With hints of peach, apricot, lemon peel and white flowers paired with Milk Chocloate Pretzels from The Chocolate Bar; it’s like a party in your mouth. By the way if your’re not much into Moscato, you can try a Sherry, Port or Burgandy wine.
Pinot Noir
Nothing says Smooth Dark Chocolate like a Pinot Noir. Jax Vineyard, Y3 has a sublime Pinot Noir; with essences of dried cherry, plum and strawberry. Paired with a Smooth Dark Chocolate Cupcake from Sprinkles Bakery.
Cabernet Sauvignon
If you love a long lingering taste in wine, Cabernet Sauvignon is the way to go. Red berry, currant, black cherry and a hint of Vanilla is what you get with Robert Mondavi Private Selection, Cabernet Sauvignon. A personal favorite of the Skinny NYC; pair this elegant treat with a traditional dark chocolate such as Brix Dark Chocolate, whose chocolate is created using Cacao beans from Ghana and is 70% chocolate. In fact Brix is offering a pairing kit which includes 2 bars of chocolate, a cutting board and a knife; you can have pairing parties in no time and figure out what the best combinations are for your palate.
