Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Millennials Most Likely to Shop on Those Days

Millennials Most Likely to Shop on Black Friday or Cyber Monday

Black Friday or Cyber Monday are usually both successful shopping days for all.  According to a new Banrate.com (NYSE: RATE) report most Americans won’t shop on Black Friday or Cyber Monday this year, but those rambunctious Millennials will. The report goes a step further and also says “contrary to their tech-savvy reputation, 18-29 year-olds are more likely to shop in stores on Black Friday than online.”  The usually-obsessing-with-the-online-world group of young adults are 13% more likely to physically step into a store on Black Friday than generation X, but will also more likely to shop online on both days.

While an estimated 28% of Americans plan to shop in a store on Black Friday their average spending is likely to spend $399 per shopper, with a median of $200.

“Consumers are well-aware that deep discounts will be offered throughout the holiday shopping season,” said Bankrate.com analyst Jeanine Skowronski. “They don’t necessarily need to brave the Black Friday crowds to score them.”
